Kia ora friends of Heavy Chest and Banished Music,
As some of you (but not all of you) will have seen on social media, we have postponed the upcoming Heavy Chest tour dates, due to the ongoing and evolving Covid-19 situation.

We will be rescheduling the dates, in the hope that you will hold onto your tickets, rather than asking for a refund. As you may have seen from lots of industry providers, this is how you can help and support Heavy Chest, and Banished Music through a very difficult time that we are facing together.

That said, we understand that you also could be facing a tough time, given the financial implications of Covid-19, so if you do need a refund, please contact us and we can arrange it.

Your current tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates, and we will announce those as soon as we have them.

Nothing is required from you, simply hold onto your tickets and use them for the new date later on down the track.
If you are unable to make the new dates, but are in a position to donate them to friends, please do so, if that is not an option, but you are in a financial position to forgo your refund, which effectively passes on the cost of the tickets to the artist, we encourage you to visit ForgoMyRefund.org.

This tool allows ticket buyers to forgo their refund to support artists and event organisers who have had to cancel their events. Though the public are concerned about how this outbreak will affect them personally, there is also already a huge sense of how the public can support local organisations and businesses which are core to our communities.

Please see Heavy Chest's personal statement below about the tour postponement.
Many thanks and hope you are all keeping well, safe, and OK, in this crazy time!

A message from Heavy Chest:
Hi friends and folks,
As with lots of other tours and live gatherings, we've decided to pause our plans for the upcoming Heavy Chest April tour, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
We're working closely with our promoter Banished Music to line up new dates in the coming months, and we'll announce those in due course. If you can afford to, please hold on to your tickets for now, rather than requesting a refund. They will be valid for the new dates and it helps us pay for the necessary costs we have already covered, and will cover in the coming months, to keep this tour alive. If you are not in a position to do so, you can request a refund via the 'contact the organiser' button on your ticket. We'll have new dates and new news soon. Stay safe, and look forward to seeing you when the dust settles.

April sees Heavy Chest take to the road with their new EP Zoom & Enhance to traverse width and breadth of this beloved Aotearoa, on their most expansive national tour to date.

The band's first release in nearly two years; Zoom & Enhance was recorded in Wairarapa near Lake Ferry, and the result of the band's first time collaborating on a recording project together (with previous releases completed by front man Andre Smith). The self-produced four track EP promises ear nuggets, deep grooves, and tasty licks.

Heavy Chest was started as a solo project by Andre Smith in 2017, but since the first solo shows in Wellington, the band has evolved into a dreamy three-piece live experience. The release of debut album 'Pre Heat' in 2017 marked a change in the lineup backed now by Josh Brown (drums) and Joseph Shepheard (bass), and since then the band have put together an impressive catalogue of live shows and sonic releases.

From playing shows across Europe in 2019 to selling out shows in New Zealand, Heavy Chest are a powerful live band and one you won't want to miss.
