Geshe Tharchin is visiting New Plymouth this December and will guide a talk and a meditation and mindfulness session using authentic Tibetan Buddhist techniques that can be practically applied to our modern lives.
The focus will be on 'Creating a Happy Mind' and there will be an opportunity for questions.
The venue is inside Puke Ariki Museum, in the Noel and Melva Education Room on level 1. To find the room enter the museum foyer, walk past the information desk and the room is to the right behind Arborio restaurant.
The space holds up to 45 people, please confirm if you are coming on the Facebook page.
All are welcome to attend, no meditation experience necessary.
A koha or donation is greatly appreciated.
Please arrive on time to get seated comfortably, there will be chairs as well as floor space and cushions available, please seat how most comfortable.
The teacher:
Lharampa Geshe Jampa Tharchin (or “Geshe-la”) has been Chandrakirti’s Resident Teacher since 2011. Geshe-la graduated at the top of his class at Sera Je Monastic University in South India with the equivalent of a PhD, has a degree from Gyume Tantric College, and taught at Kopan Nunnery in Nepal, for more info see the website.
