How to Stop Overthinking
Live Stream Class with Birgit Saunders

Replay of the class on Thursday 30 April and Monday 4 May, 7 - 8.30pm.

Our mind enables us to make sense of our world: how we see things, and how we experience things depends upon our mind.

So – if our mind is in a good space, even difficulties feel just like blips – but if we are in negative mode, nothing is much fun.

In general, our minds are very busy – darting from one thing to another at a million miles per hour, or obsessing about something that we really don’t want to think about.
For many of us our mind seems to really have a mind of its own. Our thoughts seem to think themselves, and they are relentless (and they often seem to be on an unwanted repeat).

But – and this is the good news – we can actually learn to control our mind a bit better, so that we can feel peaceful and happy all the time (no matter what the external circumstances are). That’s the goal.

This series helps us go a bit deeper in understanding how our mind works and explores some very practical methods that help us keep our mind positive and calm, and deal effectively with those negative states of mind which make us (and those around us) so unhappy.

Topics for the coming weeks:

- How can we relax our mind?
- What is the mind?
- How does the mind work to understand objects?
- Where do negative minds come from?
- How can we improve our concentration and other peaceful minds?
