Inspiring and motivating your team

Gallup have been monitoring the workforce engagement worldwide for the last 10 years. Globally they report that only 17% of people are engaged with their work and New Zealand is slightly worse at 14%. Gallup also report that Managers account for at least 70% of the variance in employee engagement scores. With such low figures being reported how do you create an engaged and inspired team?

When a leader creates a space in which people thrive it is contagious, people want to go the extra mile, they are happier and more motivated and because of their state of mind more creative and make better decisions.

This month whether or not you have a team that you are currently leading we will look at how you need to behave, so that you can inspire and motivate, and then what are the things you can do.

Group Overview: This group meets on a monthly basis to explore an aspect of leadership. Each meeting will be an experiential journey into an element of leadership from which you can gather insights. You can attend every month or on an adhoc basis when you see a topic that attracts you.

Who should join: This group is for anyone whether you are a Leader at work, in your community, at a school or just interested in the topic.

Why Join: Developing and growing your leadership is a journey, it is not a one time training. It is a journey that you will get to share with others. A journey that allows you to develop and grow into your Leadership Wisdom.

What to expect: Each meeting we will take a topic current to leadership or a topic relevant to a member of the group and explore what it means to you. It will not always be a rational exploration as our thinking mind tells us how it thinks it should be, not how it works best for you. Sometimes you might gain an 'aha', sometimes it might be a deep knowing, and other times it might be confusion, and it is all part of the journey as it unfolds.

Building a leadership community: The journey will be challenging and inspiring, scary and fun, and you get to voyage with others who also want to take their leadership to the next level, which is invaluable. You may buddy-up between meetings to share how it is going. Sharing with like-minded peopled who understand, is a powerful part of the journey, and that makes it even more special and magic.

Get to know Dawn: This group will be facilitated by Dawn Voyce, who has worked alongside leaders, leadership teams and helped to transform organisational culture in Europe and Australia for over 15 years. During this time she has helped many leaders become aware of their behaviours, communication and thinking patterns such that they have a better impact on their organisations; helped them navigate the tricky terrain of organisational change; and helped them understand the united power of silos and collaboration. She has assisted teams to improve their performance through identifying a unified purpose and appreciate their own team dynamics, then helped them to prioritise what is really important, improve their meeting behaviours and practices, and find the nugget that is going to help their organisations the most. Many people aren't connected or engaged with their organisations culture, but through conversations, exploration and meaning, she has helped people connect, embody and find loyalty and passion for their organisation.
