Wanaka will celebrate the International Day of Yoga with a free event on Sunday, 21st June, preceded by free and koha classes on Thursday 18th, Friday 19th, and Saturday 20th.

The International Day of Yoga (IDY) is celebrated annually on 21st of June and promotes global health, harmony and peace. The IDY’s first edition was in 2015 and was mainly in India, since then it has been growing in popularity, gaining more people, cities and countries that participate in it. In New Zealand, the IDY has been celebrated since 2017 and now Wanaka has an opportunity to hold this event, promoting Yoga in our community and the towns around us, integrating and connecting our yoga instructors from Wanaka, Hawea, Luggate, Cromwell and Alexandra.

Bellow is the program, that likely to change. It it crucial to book in advance for all classes and for the event.

Classes:
Thursday, June 18th, 6:00pm - Koha Restorative Class - Wanaka Yoga. Only 8 spots available,

Friday, June 19th, 7:00am - Koha Slow Easy Flow Class - Wanaka Yoga. Only 8 spots available.

Friday, June 19th, 9:15am - Free Vinyasa Flow - The Body Garage.

Friday, June 19th, 6:00pm - Koha Yin Yang class - Luggate Hall.

Saturday, June 20th, 8:30am - Koha Yoga Fusion* - Hot Yoga Fusion.

Saturday, June 20th, 5:45pm - Free Flow Space Yoga - Alexandra.

*Koha will be donated to a local Mental Health organization.

Event:
Sunday, June 21st
* 8:30am to 10:30am - Sun Salutations (Connie Causa) and Meditation (Susan Allen)
* 11am to 1pm - Hatha Yoga (Carmen Howell) and Yin Yoga (Emmilee Fendall)

You can register yourself in one block or both.
In respect to who is in the room and our teachers, should be no entrance after the block has started and preferably no departures before it is finished. If it is possible, please bring your own yoga mat, yoga blocks and blanket. We will have some but only a limited supply.

This will be a very special weekend to all of us. Bring your yoga mat, blocks/cushions and blanket and come to celebrate with us.
