Introductory Thai Boxing session for those interested in burning 800 calories and learning some new skills.

Thai Boxing, or Muay Thai, is Thailand's national sport, known as "The Art of Eight Limbs" - a practical and effective martial art which uses the legs, arms, elbows and knees.

Our trainers are professional Thai fighters, however, at JAI, we specialise in cardio-focused, non-aggressive workouts that burn up to 1000 calories per hour. In JAI 101 you will learn the basics striking, including how to execute basic kicks and punches on pads and bags and shadow boxing. There is no sparring in this class, but you can expect to get a good workout!

This method of training allows students to get the full physical and mental benefits of Thai Boxing without the need for fighting. We teach Thai Boxing movements as a means of developing core strength while toning your muscles and honing your reflexes. You’ll gain skills which can be used in self-defence or competitive situations.

You can expect a fun, exciting workout which will teach you practical self defence skills, help you de-stress and leave on a high!
We are located in downtown Wellington, just upstairs from Music Planet.

Wear comfortable shorts and a t-shirt and bring a sweat towel. Ensure you arrive 15 minutes prior to the class.
