‘Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu: Although small, it is precious.’

'iti': is an exciting new format where artist were invited to create a series of small new works to exhibit, all 200x200mm.
A cash & carry show, free to view all weekend, and kicking off with a humming opening event on Thursday 12 November. Late night Friday 13th features short musical performances and 'pechakucha' style artists talks, (7-8.30pm) while Saturday is a whanau friendly day with morning art activities for the kids, and a coffee cart for the grownups.

'iti' is partnered with Saturday's Featherston Booktown event, featuring acclaimed cook Annabel Langbein and an artisan food market. A chalkwalk art trail facilitated by artist Siv Fjaerestad and created by Featherston's tamariki will guide you between events around town. With Martinborough wine village nearby, South Wairarapa will be humming with creativity, culture, food and wine- all the things we do best.

About the work:
Lockdown helped many of us re-evaluate what is really important to us – 'iti' speaks to this experience of valuing the small, humble things, re-evaluating how we work, and the importance of working together as a community. The format invites artists to put their creative stamp on what this looks like to them: we have encouraged them to try a new way of working, hone in on what they do best or experiment with something else entirely.

All works are 200x200mm on board. They are hung anonymously and priced at $150, with $50 going to support the Community Centre. (you'll find out who the artist is after you buy!)

Three additional iti artworks will be raffled, drawn Sunday afternoon.
