Steinway Artist and long-time Lewis Eady Charitable Trust beneficiary Jason Bae dedicates this solo piano recital to all frontline medical doctors and essential workers in New Zealand who worked every day during the nationwide lockdown. Works by J. S. Bach, Rachmaninov, Mendelssohn, Mompou and Tchaikovsky.

This closed-door event will take place at The Piano in Christchurch and live-streamed through the Lewis Eady Facebook Page.

Jason Bae, Piano
Pianist and conductor, Jason Bae was born in Daejeon, South Korea in 1991 where he began studying piano at the age of five. At the age of twelve, he made his concerto debut with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra performing Grieg's Piano Concerto, Op. 16. A year later, he became the youngest concerto soloist to perform with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra for the 'SkyCity Starlight Symphony Concert in the Park' at the Auckland Domain to an audience of 200,000. Jason has also appeared as a concerto soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Youth Symphony Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and Bach Musica NZ. As a recitalist, Jason has performed in U.K (King’s Place, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Academy of Arts, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James' Piccadilly, Steinway Hall, Royal Academy of Music), U.S.A (Carnegie Hall), France, Finland, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand. Jason became the first New Zealander Young Steinway Artist at the age of 20 and became a Steinway Artist in 2016. He has been a proud beneficiary of Lewis Eady Charitable Trust in Auckland since 2004 and became the first South Korea-born New Zealander Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society awarded by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust in 2015. Jason is currently Artist Teacher of piano at The University of Auckland. Jason holds a Master of Arts in piano performance with the highest distinction award, 'DipRAM' from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
