Pukemiro Country Singer/Songwriter Joy Adams will be hosting an afternoon of entertainment at the Stratford Senior Citizens Clubrooms on Tuesday 18th February featuring Scottish duo, ‘Saltire’.

They are doing a number of shows throughout the New Zealand including a spot at the Paeroa Highland Games.

Having worked with them before on a couple of occasions, Joy saw an opportunity to organise a few shows for them.

Individually, they are both very accomplished entertainers in their own right, but together as ‘Saltire’ magic happens.

If you love Scottish Music, you will love these guys. Expect to be entertained.
David Vernon is one half of this super talented duo.

He can literally make an accordion talk and is described as ‘hugely talented and hilarious.’

He's performed at musical events and festivals all over the UK and abroad, including Canada, Middle East, Switzerland, Iceland and New Zealand among many others.

David can be seen playing in the Robert Duvall movie “A Shot at Glory”. He has performed for Polish president Lech Kaczynski, and has shared a stage with Sir Jimmy Shand.

He is the resident accordionist in the “Spirit of Scotland” show, which performs 250 evenings per year in Edinburgh, Scotland. “The show is a rip roaring evening of traditional Scottish song and dance.

Alex Hodgson is a Scottish singer/songwriter based in Prestonpans, East Lothian.

He has a musical career spanning several decades and has performed for the Queen, the BBC and various radio stations, most recently on Forth 2. His music is distinctively Scottish, with both a charm and humour that reflect his background and love of music.

Over the years Joy has organised many concerts and tours for NZ and overseas artists.

Her biggest achievement would be organising a 13 show tour for American Entertainer, Kenny Dale who is still as popular today in NZ as he was back in the 70’s.

Joy has recorded a total of 19 albums and won numerous awards in NZ and Australia for singing and songwriting.

She will start the show off and feature songs from her various albums then introduce her guests.

This will be an afternoon not to be missed. The show starts at 1.30pm.
As usual, there will be a cuppa and biscuit at half time.
