After school surfing program @ Mangawhai & Te Arai!
Every week on a Monday & Wednesday at either Te Arai Beach or Mangawhai Heads Surf Beach (pending conditions) join our Junior Surf Program for kids aged 5-18. It is an 8 week, learn to surf program for all stages! Safe, easy and fun!
Our next upcoming program goes for 8 weeks. Junior Surfers will be grouped into ages / abilities and assigned 1 or 2 dedicated, supportive and enthusiastic coaches for the whole term.
Note: Surfers can join part programme, please contact us to arrange discounted rate
We can cater for siblings/friends of different ages in the same group and make allowances for kids who can only make a particular time however ideally:
- Mondays 4pm – 5.30pm (ages: 5 – 11)
- Mondays 5.30pm – 7pm (ages 11+)
- Wednesdays 4pm – 5.30pm (ages: 5 – 11)
- Wednesdays 5.30 – 7pm (ages 11+)
(above age grouping is preferred but not necessary)
New surfers who lack confidence are more than welcome to this program. Aotearoa Surf have the ability to work closely with young and unconfident children taking then from strength to strength.
We will be operating a 6 to 1 Surfer to coach ratio one of the lowest ratios in NZ Surfing!
All coaches will be Surfing NZ accredited and International Surfing Association Qualified instructors or currently training for certification.
Aotearoa Surf Junior Surfers Club is best suited for new, beginner and intermediate surfers who want to get out and up in the ocean. We are committed on delivering a holistic surfing experience for young kids that may have tried surfing before, had a lot of fun and want to explore it further.
Sessions:
8 x 1.5 hour sessions 4pm or 5.30pm
WHERE:
Te Arai Beach / Mangawhai Heads Surf Beach (may change pending conditions – predominately Mangawhai Heads)

Surfers are welcome to bring their own equipment or use ours.
Spaces are strictly limited – get in fast!
We will provide everything a Junior surfer needs including wetsuit however we recommend investing in a wetsuit which you can purchase from us if needed.
