Come along, bring the whanau and enjoy this free festival in celebration of Kerikeri's 200 year anniversary as the first settlement area of New Zealand.

Loads of fun things to do including Kapa Haka performances, Food, Craft, Art Exhibitions, Live Art, Culture, Heritage, Tours & Talks, Weaving, Children's Playground, Fridge Poetry, Archaeology, Kid's Games, Fashion Fusion Dress up, and two stages of live music including Troy Kingi & The Upperclass, the Māori Sidesteps, Kawiti Waetford and many more...

Festival information

Admission
Free family/community focussed, alcohol, smoke, and drug free event. Bag checks will be carried out throughout the day. Intoxicated person(s) will be asked to leave the festival grounds.

Accessways
Main access is via Landing Road from Rewa’s Village and the Doc Te Papa Atawhai Northside Reserve. ‘Gateway’ pedestrian entrance is via Kingston House exhibitions, following the Hongi Hika Trail to Kororipo Kainga. Other pedestrian points of entry are via various other walking trails, and Kerikeri and Landing Roads.

Public Parking & Road Closures
This is a pedestrian friendly event. Road Closures will be in place down Kerikeri and Landing Roads. Exemptions will be made for Residents, Businesses & Staff, and for Festival Service Providers only.
Please use Public Parking within Kerikeri Township, or any available roadside parking within the vicinity of Kororipo Heritage Park, not affected by road closures.

Disabled Parking
Limited designated Disabled Parking will be available to access on the day at both Kerikeri and Landing Roads. Present your Disability ID card to Festival Traffic Management officials on arrival, and display on your vehicle dashboard. Access to vehicles carrying disabled people will be enabled to drop off and pick up passengers, should designated areas be full. All non-exempt vehicles parked in Designated Disabled Parking Areas may be towed.

Free shuttle bus service
A Festival Shuttle Bus Service will run to and from Northtec Carpark to DoC Te Papa Atawhai Northside Reserve, Landing Road, via the Waipapa Bypass. Buses will depart every 20-30 mins.

Festival food
Café’s within Kororipo Heritage Park, and a variety of food and craft vendors will be operating throughout the day. We encourage you to support them, and support the festival’s aim of being a ‘Zero-Waste’ event.

Health & Safety
Festival Headquarters marquees will be the main contact points throughout festival day. Volunteer Festival Event Crew will be roaming to provide you with any assistance.

Sun wise
Kororipo Heritage Park Festival is an outdoor event. Be Sun Wise. Bring your own sunhats, sunscreen, and sun umbrellas.

Landscape Safety
Outdoor spaces are uneven, and contain patches of gorse. We recommend wearing appropriate footwear, festival-friendly foldout chairs, cushions and blankets.

Festival Activities take place close to Te Awa o Ngā Rangatiria (The River of Chiefs). Please take responsibility for the safety of children, and observe the safety instructions of any children’s outdoor activities.

St John’s
St John’s ambulance service will be on site throughout the duration of the festival.

Security & Personal Property Liability
Security will be on sight. However festival goers must be responsible for personal belongings brought on-site or left in vehicles while attending this event. Festival organisers will not be liable for any damage or loss of personal property or belongings.

Security - Stage/Backstage Performance Areas:
Public access to these areas is strictly prohibited.

Kororipo Heritage Park Festival aims to be a 'Take Home Your waste' - ‘Zero-Waste’ event.
