Violinist Marko Pop Ristov and pianist Flavio Villani team up for a celebration of Beethoven's music featuring two of his most beloved Violin Sonatas together with one of Prokofiev's towering masterpieces.

Marko Pop Ristov - violin
Marko started his musical education at age 9 in his hometown Bitola, North Macedonia. In 2000 he was invited and awarded a full scholarship to study with P.Vernikov at the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” in Florence, Italy. Marko graduated from the Royal College of Music in London, UK, with a BMus in 2009. He also attained his Masters in Chamber Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2012.
Marko has been awarded first prize in several international competitions including "Performing Australian Music" (London, 2008), "Giovanni Batista Pergolesi" (Italy, 2003) and "Peter Konjovich" (Yougoslavia, 2001). He has appeared as a soloist with "Kensington Sinfonia"(UK), "Orchestra dei Ragazzi" (Italy), “Wairua Sinfonietta” Auckland, NZ as well as "Bitola Chamber Orchestra" and "National Symphony Orchestra" (North Macedonia).
In 2010 Marko was invited to perform the "Rombach" piano trio by P. Dusapin for the BBC Proms and in 2012 he also had his Barbican debut. Since his arrival in New Zealand in 2013 Marko is a regular player with the APO and ACO as well as section
leader of "Bach Musica". He is a founding member of the “Villani Piano Quartet” with whom he has performed all around New Zealand.

Flavio completed a Bachelor of Piano Performance with Matteo Napoli at the Conservatory ‘G.Martucci’ in conjunction with a Bachelor of IT in Salerno, Italy in 2007. After moving to NZ in 2008 he obtained a Master in Piano Performance at the University of Auckland with first class honours under the guidance of pianist Stephen De Pledge.
The journey towards his first solo performance with an orchestra was documented in the feature length film "Crossing Rachmaninoff". He has performed with different orchestras and chamber music formations in Festivals in California, Texas, Italy, Spain and New Zealand. He was absolute winner of the Northland Society Piano Competition in 2008 as well as winner of the first prize in the Llewelyn Piano Competition in both 2011 and 2012.
Currently he is undertaking a Doctorate through the Waikato University under the supervision of Katherine Austin and is Director of the Music School L'Accademia based in St Heliers, Auckland
