Join us for some late-night shows in the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium:
7pm – Flying Monsters
220 million years ago dinosaurs were beginning their domination of Earth. But another group of reptiles was about to make an extraordinary leap; pterosaurs were taking control of the skies. Written and narrated by Sir David Attenborough, the story of how and why these mysterious creatures took to the air is more fantastic than any fiction.
8pm – The Sky Tonight
A live presentation about how the sky over Otago will look on the night of your visit. Learn about stars, constellations, deep sky objects, and how to view them that very evening.
9pm – Amazing Universe 3D
Go on a journey from Hooper’s Inlet on the Otago Peninsula to the edges of the Universe. Explore some of the most wondrous astronomical sights humanity has discovered on this voyage to the stars! Visit the other planets in our solar system, hear about neighbouring galaxies, and learn about the life cycle of the billions of stars that make up our night sky.
