Come and learn the basics of Salsa, Tango, Bachata and more and get moving and grooving Latin-American style!
Join Alex White from "Viva Latina" dance school and learn some Spanish language and culture through dance as well, as to keep it as authentic as possible, many of the names will be in Spanish as well as English. We’ll be focusing on Salsa and Tango, but will also look at the basics of other common Latin dance styles: Merengue, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk.
Couples are welcome but partners are not essential (please note however that we cannot guarantee equal numbers of men and women).
By the end of the course, you'll be able to:
- Demonstrate basic steps
- Confidently lead or follow basic turn patterns and key fundamentals in Salsa and Tango
- Identify and practise the basic movement characteristics of Zouk, Bachata, Kizomba and Merengue
- Recognise different styles and tempos of Latin dance music
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for dancing and a bottle of water.
This is a physical activity that involves an element of risk. While all possible measures are taken to prevent accidents or injury, please note that participation is at your own risk.
