Join us and photograph the night sky in Waitawa Regional Park on Friday February the 21st. (50 minutes drive from CBD, near Maraetai).

Price includes group and individual training with photographer Charles Brooks in camera settings and post production.

We've partnered with Lumix, SYRP, Lacklands and Topic Rentals to rent the gear you need or try something new at a significant discount.

Classes start at 7:30pm and run through to 1am.

The Milky Way will be stretching over a stunning view of the Waiheke and Chamberlins Island before swinging over our heads with the galactic core rising over the Coromandel. Waitawa park has a number of beautiful locations to shoot at the whole night through.

We'll be teaching camera settings and post-processing with your own photos! You'll learn to use Lightroom, Photoshop, PTgui and 3D LUT Creator to create truly astonishing images.

What you need to bring:
- A Camera (any modern digital camera with a detachable lens)
- A Tripod (essential for night photography)
- The Widest Lens You Have (ideally 24mm or less and with an aperture of 3.5 or lower. If you don't own one you can rent one from somewhere like Topic Rentals, depending on your camera we may even have some you can borrow)
- A Torch (bring a red light if you have one, like a bicycle light. Red light helps you change your camera setting without blinding you or your neighbors)
- Warm Clothes (It can be surprisingly windy and cold!)
- A Thermos of Your favorite hot drink
- Water and a snack
- Did we mention to bring a Torch? (super important)

Please message us at highrestours@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns about gear.

We’ll send you a detailed itinerary and weather updates a few days before the event. If it looks bad we’ll cancel and refund you. Sometimes, even if the forecast is clear, we get cloud: In this case we’ll teach you time-lapse using SYRP robotic heads, or light-painting using our custom made light-tubes and offer you a discount on future workshops.

Registration and payment through the website.
Minimum 3 people, maximum 10.
