It's been over 2 years since they played at The Thirsty Dog but the Lights On Project and Mema Wilda are back at this iconic Auckland music venue on Friday 23 October 2020.

Mema Wilda has been sharing her unique brand of psychedelic folk/pop in and around Auckland for over 2 years now and has been captivating audiences along the way.  As well as headlining her own shows, she has opened for international artists at the Wine Cellar, Leigh Sawmill and Nivara Lounge. In August last year, Mema released her debut single, Blue, which went on to be featured on the Base FM Turn It Up compilation album earlier this year.

The Lights On Project has also been creating quite a buzz in these parts with their genre-spanning and thought provoking original material.  Since the release of their debut single, MIrror Man in March 2019, they have gone on to release 3 further tracks.  Their second single, Eyes Of A Child, was named as a finalist in both the Unsigned Only and International Songwriting competitions.  With an uncommon mix of instruments including a cello and a saxophone these guys are sure to leave a lasting impression on any audience.  One reviewer wrote of them 'this is not just music.  It's transformation through sound'.

Opening the show will be the incredible Tim Shacklock.  As well being a freelance multi-instrumentalist, Tim is also an accomplished singer/songwriter in his own right.  It's such a treat to have Tim taking the spotlight to perform some of his original material.  Think James Taylor mixed with Simon and Garfunkel and you'll be somewhere close to Tim's beautiful music.
