The weather forecast is looking fabulous for Lights Over Marlborough! It is Whitney Street School’s major fundraiser for the year and among the biggest fireworks displays in the region.

The gates open at 5:30pm for a 6 pm start to the food and entertainment before the fireworks display, which is held as darkness falls (about 9pm).

Organisers welcome families and friends to come along early in the evening and encourage you to purchase food from our various food carts or bring a picnic to enjoy the pre-show atmosphere and entertainment. A large range of food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase and there will be free water on site.

The pre-fireworks entertainment includes a performance by Whitney Street School’s Kapa Haka group, Marlborough Boys’ College music students and other wonderful musicians. The range of sideshow stalls and activities includes crowd favourites such as a chocolate wheel, bouncy castles and a mystery bottle stall.

This year all tickets will be sold by gate sales.

The Lights Over Marlborough fireworks display started from small beginnings in the school grounds and has grown to become one of the largest annual fireworks displays in Marlborough, with close to 5,000 people attending each year. The fireworks display is delivered by KiwiPyro.
