Excited to announce New Zealand's favourite Wellington based jazz showband, "HIGH SOCIETY", to open the new season of live music at the historic Days Bay Pavilion, in what would have been the 2020 Wellington International Jazz Festival week.
This bubbly entourage of jazz movers and shakers in the festival, corporate and bar scene inject life into many of the classic jazz standards of the American songbook, along with delivering relevant contemporary jazz songs that please a wide variety of ages. Prior to lockdown, they enjoyed headlining at the world famous Napier Art Deco Festival starring with Phil Crosby Jr. (L.A based crooner and grandson of Bing Crosby) in a show called "The Golden Age of Hollywood" directed by NZ actor William Kircher.
The show this evening will star international singer and cabaret artist, Eastbourne based Nicole Chesterman , Bob Keeton (another Eastbournian!...what's in the water? )on keys and Hammond!, Saxophonist and conga - the legendary Wellington personality and Celebrant Phil Costello (yes he can marry you or bury you!!), technical wiz kid "Mad Dog" Mike Duffy on upright bass, and introducing Sam MacKenzie a handsome young drummer who is going to rock everyone's socks...Ladies look out!
Bookings are absolutely essential - phone The Pavilion on 04 562-7775
