Sam Judd talks about Sustainable Coastlines and how to get involved and make a difference.
Sam is the co-founder and CEO of the multi-award-winning charity Sustainable Coastlines. In 2013 he was named Young New Zealander of the Year. During his eight years at the helm of Sustainable Coastlines, they have grown into a globally recognised movement that educates and empowers communities to protect the places they love.
To date, the small team at Sustainable Coastlines have delivered educational programs to 222,5127 people with excellent longitudinal impact. They have also motivated over 100,000 participants to remove more than 1.5 million litres of rubbish from the coast and planted over 160,000 native trees along our waterways.
This is the first of a six-part lecture and discussion series, Living Lightly, that aims to engage and enable the community to make everyday lifestyle choices to save money and have a healthier life and planet.
Over the course of the series, speakers will address a number of different sustainability issues, such as recycling, transport, clean seas and beaches, and sustainable food options.
Cost: $10 for the series to cover costs and offer a Koha to speakers.
Bookings: pamela@stlukes.org.nz or 09 520 0740.
