This is a friendly small group day trip from Kapiti. We'll start the taste extravaganza with morning tea at the coffee connoisseurs, Ripe Coffee in Petone. If you're not convinced by their fabulous range of Ripe roasted coffee, you can enjoy a tea or soft drink.
Then take your pick between visiting the South African-owned Ontrays food emporium or specialty food store The Dutch Shop.
For a light lunch, La Bella Italia restaurant will welcome us for a ravioli tasting experience accompanied by italian bread and wine (a vegetarian option is available).
And it wouldn't be right to visit Petone in summer without calling in for a locally produced Zany Zeus ice cream. Their decadent Ghana Chocolate won the 2019 Supreme award for best New Zealand boutique ice cream. Let's give it a try!
The price is $155 per person. This includes transport, morning tea, a light lunch and an ice cream.
Pick up from 9.00 a.m. with return at approximately 3.00 p.m. There are pick up points in Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekakariki.
Accessibility: The trip is taken in a comfortable 12-seater mini-bus which is not wheel-chair accessible. Assistance is offered for mounting and dismounting the vehicle. Walking frames can be safely stowed in transit.
