Lumen School Holiday Programme
These school holidays we are offering a range of inspiring learning experiences that foster creativity and wellbeing for children aged six and up including collage, dream catcher making, needle felting, flower essences and rongoa/medicine making. We supply high quality materials and resources for small classes with inspiring teachers. Morning/afternoon tea included. Bookings are essential.

Needle Felting with Alice Cowdrey
During this workshop, textile artist Alice Cowdrey will teach you how to needle felt a 3D object from sheep’s wool. 10+ years.

Exploring Native Flora & Fauna
Join us as we will explore the natural environment at Tataraimaka with a scavenger hunt. Then create a wonderful collage creation inspired by native plants and animals. 6+ years.

Create a stunning geometric paper collage to hang on your wall. 6+ years.

Dreamcatchers with Suzanne Fraser
Originating from Canada, Suzanne draws on the history of Native American culture to teach your child the art form of making a Dreamcatcher. Learn about the history of this tradition and weave a dreamcatcher of your own. 10+ years.

Harakeke Putiputi with Tania Brown
Learn the beautiful process of weaving putiputi (flowers) from harakeke with Tataraimaka weaver Tania Brown.

Rongoā - Medicine making with Corryn Pryce-baxter
Led by Corryn Pryce-Baxter, this workshop offers an opportunity for children to learn how to make rongoa rākau/herbal medicine, and other activities that enhance Wairua and connection. 8+ years.

Flower Essences with Teresa Goodin
In this workshop flower essence practitioner Teresa Goodin will give an introduction to flower essences and guide you through the process of choosing essences and making your own remedy. 8+ years.
