Lynette Diaz makes a headlining return to her folk club roots with an evening of original music spanning a catalogue that began at the age of 37, with a life affirming change that led to songwriting and performing. From a childhood spent where the edge of the Rocky Mountains converge with the Great Plains of the United States, her voice and writing style evoke the dichotomy of expansiveness and introspective insight akin to the Folk/Americana influence of her youth. Yet, it wasn’t until a permanent move to New Zealand that a musical path became evident.

Supported by some key mentors and friends, Lynette released an award-winning song, 'Livin' Before Dyin' (2008) from her debut CD, 'Lyrics In My Head', and she continues to write and release original music via digital platforms. The latest singles are, 'Take A Step Forward' (2019) and 'Lunar Eclipse Bliss' (2020). The Christchurch Folk Music Club marked her stage debut in 2007 and collaborations with a handful of instrumentalists/ musicians followed, including an ongoing collaboration with fingerstyle guitarist, Susan L. Grant, performing as 'The Manuka Hunnies'.

Lynette will fly solo for this performance, presenting new and cherished songs alongside recent instrumental compositions. Her special guest on the evening is her son, Connor, performing a short opening set of music that will include an interpretation of one of his Mother's original compositions.
