Come on Marlborough, it’s time to make it happen for Havelock.

Start the school holidays in style and play local with the family on Saturday 26th September. Visit for the day or perhaps make it a weekend away.

As well as plenty of mini-events, attractions and activities on the day, there is one AMAZING prize to be in to win, treasure-hunt style.

You’ll need the official Havelock ‘treasure’ map to visit at least four of the various nominated venues to get your map signed or stamped to be in to win. Watch for more details here and on our Facebook page as we get closer to the day.

This is your chance to discover all that is fantastic about Havelock and support local.

Here is some of the fun to be had in Havelock on the day.

Rugby at the Domain – Pelorus U7 Rippa Rugby Team play at 10am followed by fun for all the family with a sausage sizzle, bouncy castle, and coffee cart. Bouncy castle from 11am to 3pm (level 1 dependent). Limited to 100 people on the domain.

Hav’alook Pop Up Gallery – will be firing up their blacksmith’s forge for demonstrations and providing a carving demonstration between 10am and 2pm.

Havelock Museum – historical dress-ups for kids to try, pose on the old steam train for photos. There will also be mannequins in historic costume and a hands-on activity where kids can try using some old-fashioned household implements. Throughout the day.

Mills Bay Mussels – mussel shucking demonstration, bouncy castle and kids’ activities as well as live music in the afternoon. Times: 10am to 3pm (on the hour) Mussel shucking demonstration, 10am to 3pm bouncy castle, 12pm to 2pm live music with ‘Mike the Postie’.

The Gallery Havelock – Twenty-four Marlborough artists will be on display at the gallery. Artists Bonnie Coad and Alexandra Burgess will be demonstrating their artwork 10-2pm. A kids’ art activity station will be set up 10-2pm and local school students’ artwork will be on display.

Havelock Lions Market in the Town Hall – stalls selling arts and crafts as well as community stalls promoting and fundraising for local groups and organisations from 10am to 2pm.

Motuweka Havelock Pathway – Currently under construction, this long-awaited community path will have a section open for the day. Enjoy a short loop walk or longer walk along Havelock Mole to watch the boats coming in and out of the marina. All day.

Greenshell Mussel Cruise – cruise Pelorus Sound with Marlborough Tour Company learning about mussel farming and tasting Greenshell Mussels paired with a glass of sauvignon blanc. 1 day Special $95 Adult / $45 child - depart Havelock at 1pm; return 4pm.

Havelock Holiday Park - free Kiwi card membership (valued at $35 valid for 2 years) plus 15% discount on accommodation for the Friday or Saturday evening. To qualify mention “Make it Marlborough”. Cabins are dependent on availability.

Let’s make it happen everyone – and come play local with the family in Havelock.
