Most Reverend Paul Martin, S.M., Catholic Bishop of Christchurch invites all the people of Canterbury to join in the Marian Procession with the Consecration of the City and Diocese held annually in honour of Our Lady of Christchurch whose protecting image formerly stood in the old Cathedral tower and since the great earthquake is venerated at each year’s mind.
The procession will be presided over by His Vicar General, Rev. Fr Rick Loughnan, at Our Lady of Victories, 106 Main S Rd, Sockburn, Christchurch, 2.00 pm on Sunday, 11 October, 2020.
Also in thanksgiving for the protection received during and since the earthquake, and petitioning Our Heavenly Mother to turn her eyes of mercy towards us in the future.
