Get into the groove of things and strut your stuff! It takes two to tango and the Tāmaki Regeneration Company and Te Oro are the perfect pair! They bring you the Mayfair Social - a series of free drop-in dance sessions and performances every Saturday in February, taking place at the Glen Innes Town Centre.

Saturday 8th Feb - K Pop with K Pop Dance Auckland
Saturday 15th Feb - Kapa Haka with Te Amiorangi
Saturday 22nd - Bollywood with Aaja Nachle
Saturday 29th - Swing Dance with Swing Out Central
Saturday 7th Mar - Chinese Fan Dance

K Pop - K-Pop (Korean Pop) is cribs movement styles from a variety of genres including rock, pop, hip hop, R&B and electronica. This February 8th come strut your stuff and learn about this craze that’s sweeping the world off its feet.

Kapa Haka - experience Māori performing art originating from the indigenous people of Aotearoa, New Zealand. On February 15th join in with fancy footwork inspired by native birds, or start your journey to perfect poi.

Bollywood - A blend of Indian dance styles, from classical Indian dance, folk Indian dance, to R&B and hip hop! February 22nd will bring a vibrant class where you can learn more about this iconic dance style.

Swing dance - Whether it’s the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Solo Jazz, or Charleston, you can learn the dances and the music that made everyone swing in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

Chinese Fan Dance - We’re kicking off the Mayfair Social series with Chinese Fan Dance!
Experience the art and tradition that has captivated audiences for two thousand years. A form of traditional folk dance, fans are used by dancers to show their beauty, and grace. A spectacular art-form to share and learn the stories and beauty of Chinese culture. Why not try it yourself?!
