Bread & Circus

Bread & Circus – World Buskers Festival 2020.

Modern Māori Quartet are an award-winning, good-looking, suave contemporary Māori showband in the vein of forebears such as the Hi-Marks, Māori Volcanics Showband, Dalvanius and the Fascinators, Māori Trubadours and The Howard Morrison Quartet.

MMQ aspires to be one of Aotearoa’s global cultural ambassadors, representing the revival of a proud heritage of world-class Māori showband entertainment. MMQ’s accomplished artists hail from different corners of Aotearoa to bring the concept of a ‘Māori Ratpack’ into the present, weaving acting and musical talent together to croon their spin on modern and classic numbers.

Welcome to Bread & Circus 2020!
High-end entertainment, abundant feasts and newfound experiences return to Ōtautahi Christchurch. As balmy days return and Hine Raumati brings her abundant bounty to our region, we look forward to revelling in the sunshine of this summer festival with you.

With a programme jam-packed with 42 shows by 60 artists from all around the world, as well as right here in New Zealand, there’s spectacle for everyone.

Headline show Blanc de Blanc makes its Christchurch debut direct from a triumphant season in Las Vegas. This circus cabaret sensation is from the same mad-genius makers as last years’ Spiegeltent smash-hit, Limbo - an absolute must see. And look out for the Big Festival Galas returning to Isaac Theatre Royal, variety shows bringing you the best of the festival.

Get ready to explore the spectacular!
