Welcome one and all to our free whānau showing of Ngā Manu Rōreka, our 2020 Te Reo Māori Season play, at Te Marae. This beautiful full te reo Māori play is written by Apirana Taylor and translated by Materoa Haenga.

Mō Te Whakaari / About the Play:
Ko Rāmai rāua ko Takimana rā ēnei tamariki pūmanawa, haututū, e whakararua nei e ngā tikanga me ngā kawa whakahaere o te kura tuarua. Nā, ka riro nā mā ngā poupou e rua, ko Te Ao rāua ko Waimiria, kua hoki kikokiko mai nei hai ākonga, e ārahi, e tautoko haere ēnei o ō rāua uri.

Ramai and Takimana are two troublesome yet talented junior high school students struggling with rules and authority. They find the support they need from two ancestral poupou, Te Ao and Waimiria, who are able to return disguised as students to guide their descendants.
