The 18th NZ Mountain Film Festival 3-day event is a celebration of adventurous sports and lifestyles presented for film enthusiasts and armchair adventurers. Our films tell stories of adventure sports, foreign cultures, remote travel, and environmental issues. Come join us live at Queenstown Memorial Centre, or online.
The Festival has three film sessions:
SESSION 7 – Snow Show
Friday 26 June, 7.30 to 10.00pm
Queenstown Memorial Centre.
Cost: $20
The Snow Show is an audience fave. This year we watch the first ski descent of the 8,516m Mt Lhotse, the fourth-highest mountain in the world! We ski steep Alaskan spines as well as urban lines, we ski under the northern lights and the Australian sun. We chase epic conditions, deep pow, steep lines and basically get ready for winter with this smorgasbord of adventurous ski & snowboard flicks. As always, this show is one not to be missed.
SESSION 3 – Pure NZ Films
Saturday 27 June. 7.30 to 10.00pm
Memorial Centre, Queenstown.
Cost: $20
This epic bunch of films, home-grown in Aotearoa, will not disappoint. Enjoy these adventurers exploring their own back yard as well as the far-off corners of the planet, from Whanganui to the Middle East, Queenstown to Kilimanjaro, this session will take you around the world, Kiwi-style. You will love some NZ humour, history and hilarity. After watching these films, you will want to go on an adventure. An audience favourite.
SESSION 9 – Repeats of the Award Winning Films
Sunday 28 June. 7.30 to 10.00pm
Queenstown Memorial Centre.
Cost: $20
With our smaller venues this year and number restrictions we thought it well worthwhile to repeat some of our most popular films. Check out just the best of the best in this two-hour selection of films that won our main prizes in 2020.
