As much as we all love shooting in gorgeous locations with relaxed clients and plenty of time to create, the reality is that many times as photographers we actually just have to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Weddings in particular are a great training ground for developing your photography skills, as you’re often against time pressure, tricky lighting conditions, nervous people and bad weather, but there are no chances for a re-shoot.
In this presentation, Catherine Cattanach will share a few tricks for getting decent portraits in sub-optimal conditions and in sub-optimal locations.
This talk is aimed at newer photographers but everyone is welcome. As experienced photographers will know, you only need to come away with one new idea from a presentation in order for attending to have been worthwhile! If time permits, we will hold a group discussion afterwards where we can all share other tips we’ve learned along our photographic journeys.
