Off The Grid Unschool Camp is a campground for unschoolers/ life learners. It goes from 30th December - 3rd January on the banks of the Waitawheta River, Karangahake Gorge. (Full directions sent once you register.)

Ticket prices are for the full camp. We have the standard ticket price and an abundant price - for those who would like to contribute to our sponsored places. We have some fully funded places available for unschooling families unable to take a holiday this summer - if this sounds like you please take up your spot by selecting the free ticket.

We will provide:

A NYE ceilidh with guest caller from Gisbourne's Good Folk, Jane Lutus.

Meadows for camping

A tea and coffee area and dish wash up area

Marquees for hanging out

Morning gathering circles

A slip and slide

Famous in NZ "glow line" - a spectacular glow worm walk through the forest

a delicious river

compost toilets

sofas and chairs and a tables

an giant ice box to keep milk cool

a back gate that leads on to the kamai ranges for much exploring and swimming on Conservation Land

a festival vibe

filtered water for drinking

hot water for dishes

a family friendly bush disco just for fun!

You will need to bring:

Something to camp in, like a tent

Torches / lanterns

All your food

something to cook on

Togs

Your family

any extra fancy camping gears such as solar showers/chairs

ukuleles and instruments for jamming

On the first night we will have a pot luck dinner! Please bring something easy to put on the table and share with one another at 6pm sharp!

Our opening circle will be at 11am the following morning :D

Regarding refunds - camp has sold out both years so please understand that if you book a place and don't come you are stopping another family from coming. Refunds will be given on a case by case basis. Thank you so much for your understanding :D In case of a Covid Level Change to 2 we will carry on with the first 100 people to buy tickets and refund others, if level change to 3 we will postpone the event.
