Afternoon sessions for a 9-week block course.

This is an inspiring and productive course for all levels of experience. A fun time set in a chilled out relaxed and creative environment. Get really stuck in and learn something new each week and then build on it the next week. This 9-week course will be based on traditional painting techniques from old masters and some contemporary approaches applied to the genre.

As well as covering a lot of ground, equally the focus will be on developing a solid understanding of colour theory, tonal relationships, proportion and composition. Progressing to use these ideas to develop believable 3d forms on a 2d surface.

Tutor: Damien Kurth

Basic starting materials are supplied guidance on any other purchases will be given during the course.

You are more than welcome to bring your own paints and brushes. Tea and Coffee is supplied. Though this course is based around oil painting, the ideas covered can be applied to all painting mediums and brief discussions can be explored. Damien is an exceptional and experienced tutor that comes to us from Auckland where he has been a part of the Browne School of Art.
