Are you ready to leap, laugh and learn while we Zoom into your living room? Leading dance educator Clare Battersby will get contemporary dance moves and creative imaginations flying in this engaging online class..

We will do fun dance warm-ups

We’ll develop movement phrases

We’ll build awareness of how, what and where your body activates the space

We’ll create dance phrases using techniques, contemporary dance skills learnt in the sessions plus your ideas and inspirations.

You will need:

Comfortable clothes or your favourite costume that you can easily move in.
Some pens and paper to draw the ideas explored in the session after the session finishes.

Tutor Clare Battersby is one of New Zealand’s most experienced dance educators, and a treasured, long-term tutor at TAPAC. Clare has a Graduate Diploma in Movement & Dance from the University of Melbourne and has taught dance to young Aucklanders for over 25 years. She creates classes where dance skills are explored, developed and extended in a safe, creative and encouraging environment. Clare also creates and performs her own delightful outdoor events for children. “I love to encourage children to express their natural desire to leap for the stars, roll across the earth and run through empty spaces.” In 2014, Clare received a Kiwibank New Zealander of the year Local Hero award.
