With a background in costume, theatre, television, and film David Roil puts his experience into creating stunning upcycled fashion using a methodology that uses no patterns, and no industrial processes. All his work is created by hand stitching and draping, to create astonishing objects of fashion art. Along with reimagining workaday clothing, David uses curtains, bedspreads, tablecloths, and blankets; transforming them into forward thinking fashion that has appeared on runways such as Melbourne Fashion Week, Wellington Fashion Week, The Indigenous Runway Project Collection (Melbourne), and he has also appeared at local Oversew Fashion Event in Carterton. Situated in the beautiful historic Greytown Town Centre Forum, this exhibition and workshop is not to be missed.
