Rachmaninoff - Symphony No. 3

Prokofiev’s First Piano Concerto with internationally celebrated concert pianist Jian Liu promises to be percussive yet delicate.

The startling work established the dynamic Russian Sergei Prokofiev's reputation as an enfant terrible. The pianist takes you on a thrilling ride from dramatic opening to epic conclusion.

Orchestra Wellington’s Marc Taddei conducts fellow Russian, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 3. Rachmaninoff’s mastery of orchestral colour gives the extraordinary symphony a thrilling cinematic sweep.

Czech composer Josef Suk’s Serenade for Strings gently gets the night underway in Orchestra Wellington’s exploration of Russian culture, Rachmaninoff 3: Melancholy.

Part of The Great Romantic 2020 Season, proudly brought to you by Orchestra Wellington.
