Guided Tour

Move over Dora, Dr Who, and Indiana Jones; we are calling all children to come and explore the world, from right here in Dunedin!

Our intrepid Museum Guides will take you and your children on an incredible adventure through our galleries. Dressed up, and armed with a backpack full of fascinating objects, our Guides make learning magical.

There is so much to discover, from the Dunedin’s favourite gallery Animal Attic, to treasures from throughout history, across the globe and some from our own back gardens, you will be led on a whirlwind tour of our favourite things and the Museum’s hidden corners.

Children will be given a magnifying glass and compass to use on the tour, and a notebook to draw or write in, and they will finish the tour as a real adventurer!

There are objects to find that our guides hide throughout the galleries, mysteries to uncover, and you might even get to touch a moa bone.

Join us to uncover the wonders of the collection. Free for Dunedin locals for December and January only.
