Join us for the annual exhibition from the Otamatea Quilters' group. Exquisitely crafted quilts line the Volunteers Hall and the Boarding House, showcasing a range of techniques in the craft of patchwork and quilting that reflect the creativity of the Kaipara.
Quilts in the exhibition range from entire hand-worked to machine stitched, embroidered, embellished, contemporary and traditional, all worked to a common theme.
This annual exhibition will go ahead, despite the advent of COVID 19, with several changes. Quilters will be in attendance Friday only over Labour weekend. Many of the quilts are for sale., though this year there will be no sales tables or raffles.
Each year the Otamatea Quilters chose an organisation or charity to donate quilts to. This year a number of stroller and cot quilts have been made for the Plunket Society, to give to young families who would benefit from these quilts.
$5 Door Vouchers are available for those who only wish to see this exhibition. Admission prices to the museum include this show.
We look forward to sharing these wonderful creations with you.
