When Matiu took his own life, his little dog Toto took off with the suicide note. The whole community has been turned upside down. When the dog turns up outside Rangi’s window he knows he must help. He must adopt her - whangai - and he must protect and hide her. But as he feeds her, his toto (blood) begins to run deeper and darker than ever before.
Rangitoto has awoken.
The earth begins to dance, and the sky bleeds.
She’s little. She’s black. She’s a b!tch.

Tuatara Collective is a new company, bringing artists together to collaborate and turn our own Aotearoa stories into art. Our voice, our music, and our dance is most powerful when our hearts are entwined in the roots of the work. The Over My Dead Body series by Jason Te Mete is the debut for Tuatara Collective, beginning with Uninvited Development Season at Auckland Pride Festival 2019, anD Little Black B!tch Development Season at Kia Mau Festival, BATS Theatre Wellington, Auckland Matariki Festival 2019 Basement Theatre and Artworks Theatre, Waiheke Island.

Trigger warning: Please note Over My Dead Body: Little Black B!tch contains direct references to suicide, and explores mental health and illness. Adult Supervision is recommended for younger audiences.
