Toi Warbrick invites you to a noho marae where you will be welcomed by Rangitāne, be inspired by local history, learn about ngā taonga pūoru (Māori musical instruments) and hear Antipodeans – a work for voice and taonga pūoru. Sleep overnight in the wharenui and enjoy our manakitanga!

Indicative programme

Sat 29 Feb
11.30am: Arrive in the carpark; preparation for the Mihi whakatau
12pm: Mihi whakatau (welcome onto the marae)
1.30pm: Lunch
2.30pm: Demonstrations and talks
6.30pm: Dinner
8.00pm: Performance of Antipodeans
9.30pm: Sleep overnight in the wharenui (meeting house - built more than 150 years ago)

Sun 1 Mar
8.30am: Breakfast
9.30am: Final talk
10.30am: Poroporoaki (farewell)
11am: Depart for home

What you will need to bring: Sleeping bag (or duvet & sheet), pillow & pillow case, sleepwear, towel, toiletries
What you will likely want to bring: Jacket (for being outside in the night air), water bottle, camera (phone)

IMPORTANT INFO
We don't wear shoes inside the wharenui (meeting house), so you may choose to wear shoes which are easy to remove and put back on, as we move around the site during the noho marae. Rangimarie Marae is an alcohol-free, drug-free and smoke-free environment. There is an off-site area in the carpark designated for smokers.

PLEASE NOTE
Advance tickets are essential.
No door sales will be available.
Tickets are limited.
In addition to your online ticket, you will need to bring koha* for the marae for the welcoming ceremony.
*Koha is a gift or donation that can take many forms. For this event we request you bring $20 cash.
