Paragon Matter are pleased to announce the 'Owhango Summer Sculpture Show' will take place from 28 December 2020 - 10 January 2021.

The exhibition is located in the historical milling town of Owhango, bordering the Ohinetonga Reserve, next to the Tongiriro World Heritage National Park, offering viewers the opportunity to see sculptures in the unique subalpine environment of Owhango, close to New Zealand's most stunning scenery.

The Owhango Summer Sculpture Show was established to offer our world-class sculptors another opportunity to showcase their work in an outdoor context. The central North Island is known for it’s sublime beauty. The landscape of Owhango will bring art and the landscape together.

Diverse sculptural explorations will bring the opportunity for the audience to engage with site specific, large scale and multi media installations alongside works made from ceramic, corten steel, bronze and stone. Artists included are: Debbie Barber, Patrick Barry, Hannah Berry, Stuart Bridson, Oliver Cain, Elliot Collins, Wanda Gillespie, Gregor Kregar, Anna Korver, Jonathan Organ, Ben Pearce, Jessica Pearless, Oriah Rapley, Sasha Reid, Karen Sewell, Jeff Thomson, Johnny Turner and Hannah Valentine.

The 'Gala Preview' on Sunday 27 December, 3pm - 5pm offers viewers a first look at the exhibition, chance to meet the exhibiting artists and enjoy complimentary refreshments. A donation from each Gala Preview ticket sold will be donated to 'Owhango Alive', a local volunteer group striving to improve the protection of the Whio, Kiwi and other forest birds.

Daily admission offers viewers the chance to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the exhibition. A 'Children's Art Map' makes visiting the Owhango Summer Sculpture Show a fun family outing.

* This event will take place under the current Alert Level requirements from the New Zealand Government *
