Husband-and-wife team Fraser and Naomi Browne are the driving force behind Paper Cranes, and the music shows touches of their upbringing: a mixture of Japanese, Swedish, Australian and New Zealand.
The band’s music delves into themes of togetherness and relationships, the echoes that pull us together and send us apart.
Touring
The band have gigged regularly around their home town, Auckland, have played festivals and have been on four nationwide tours. Having recently moved to Tauranga, the pair have set up a new band in support of their latest album Voices, and embarked on tour around the country.
Albums
The band released their debut EP, Oh, Love! in 2012, and their warmly-received (and Taite Music Prize-nominated) album The Road Home in 2015.
Their latest album, Voices, was released in 2019 and debuted at #1 on the IMNZ charts and #12 on the New Zealand artists New Zealand music charts.
In its darkness and lightness, Voices is about doubt and freedom, the changing seasons, the decisions that lead us, the lies we’re told and the search for truth.
