The Brain Injured Children Trust annual event "Pedal & Spokes" to raise awareness and much-needed fundraising to enhance the quality of life for brain-injured children. Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success and as so many families have taken up cycling during our recent lockdown, we are expecting this year's response to be massive!
This will be a fun easy cycling event set in the beautifully managed Kopurererua Valley (K Valley) which allows us to explore wetlands, native planting as well as enjoy plenty of fun stops and crazy challenges along the way. This promises to be an entertaining day out for all, promoting inclusion and social cohesion and get kids, including those with a disability, on bikes.
A BBQ Lunch then awaits in the Historic Village, provided by ‘The Trek’ who also bring their fire trucks & limos to entertain the kids. We have an afternoon of family activities planned including face painting, art competition, pimp your bike stand, music and a junior bike obstacle course. Inspirational Para cyclist Frazer Sharp will be sharing his journey to success will our audience and an array of Disney characters will be entertaining children.
The location in The Historic Village providing an amazing backdrop to entertain the family as a whole, with quirky retailers, art studios and even a bushwalk to explore.
This year we have a special promotion to all primary and intermediate schools in the Bay of Plenty. Schools are encouraged to get families to sign up to the Pedal and Spokes Family cycle ride. Each school that has families participate will go in the draw to win $500 kindly sponsored by a local business.
Ticket includes Lunch, refreshments & a goodie bag per paid ticket.
Tickets will be capped at 300 so get in fast and secure your spot!
