An installation made of harakeke (flax) is suspended between stone buildings. Dancers weave in and out, animating the sculpture.
Permeable is a free sculpture-dance performance created especially for The Arts Centre Sculpture Festival by local artists Robyn Webster and Fleur de Their.
The 30-minute performance explores the idea of a pathway, a journey into a partly-perceived future, where deviations from the given path can lead outwards into a different interpretation, and a different experience. If you have not thought of sculpture like this before, give it a go!
Permeable is free and open to the public. Numbers are limited, so please get a ticket on the website.
Permeable will take place in the South Quad. Access is from the corner of Hereford Street and Rolleston Avenue (opposite the YMCA).
To experience the rest of The Arts Centre Sculpture Festival in the North Quad and Great Hall on the same day, please buy a festival ticket.
