We want more native birds and other wildlife in our community green spaces. Unfortunately, the rat population is growing and this has a significant impact on our vulnerable native species. So come and make your own humane, poison-free rat trap from a kitset and help us achieve the vision of a Pest Free Whau. You’ll also learn more about types of traps, best practice, monitoring and placement.
Meet at EcoMatters EcoHub as we’ll be exploring Olympic Park as part of this session. Please bring a hammer if you have one. BYO lunch, tea/coffee provided (Nice Blocks and organic juices are available at our EcoHub).
All tickets are koha/donation. This includes a trap for Whau Local Board residents, for those outside of the Whau Local Board area, traps are available for purchase ($15). Brought to you by EcoMatters.
