COVID UPDATE: We were keeping our fingers crossed to be able to go ahead next weekend but sadly the continuance of the current restrictions means we won't be able to go ahead with the event next Saturday. The good news is Peter is amped to come and play in Arrowtown so we'll be working hard over the coming weeks to reschedule. So keep following this page for updates on the new date. Look after yourselves and stay safe. We will be dancing soon.

After seven years away, Peter Urlich is returning to the Wakatipu to bring his brand of high-energy, deep house, tech house, funk and cracking beats to the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall.

The former frontman of ‘The Dudes’, who were inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame in 2019, made the shift to electronic dance music in the 90’s. Forming the ‘Nice n Urlich’ radio show with Bevan Keys on Auckland radio station, ‘bFM’. The duo subsequently released 3 ‘Nice n Urlich’ albums through ‘Huh Records’ which sold 60,000 copies in New Zealand. In 2002, Peter made the switch to New Zealand’s premier dance music station, George FM, where he took the sole reins of their breakfast show until 2009 before reuniting with Bevan to host their Saturday morning show ‘Nice n Urlich’ once again.

Hot off the heels of leaving his George FM show to launch his own online radio station, the P.U.B.E (Peter Urlich Broadcast Experience) through the ‘RadioSchmadio’ app, Peter says, ‘It was time for me to return to Arrowtown. I spent a fabulous winter living here with my family in 2013 so it is special to be able to come back and play a gig at the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall’.

Keeping with the Arrowtown theme, Peter has teamed up with Arrowtown Brewing Company and The Clubhouse Kitchen who will be running the bar at the event. #buylocal
