Picton Christmas Parade & Prize Giving Concert

Picton Christmas Parade and Carols is a family event. The volunteer committee of nine start orgainising the parade in June.

We encourage community organisations and businesses to participate. Registration forms can be picked up from Pictons First National office on London Quay or emailed out on request.

The parade leaves the Picton Police Station at 2.30pm.

A locals concert is held on the foreshore with the the "Belles" singing Christmas Songs. We also invite the local school choirs, individuals and Kapa Haka groups to perform. Face painting is free and Santa is available for photo opportunity. The cash prizes are awarded for the Best Community Float 1st, 2nd and 3rd - Best Business Float 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

We encourage families to come along - bring a rug or chairs and enjoy a family afternoon on our stunning foreshore.
