After a false start due to COVID, the PTR is set to run its inaugural event on the slopes of Mt. Pirongia. Located 30 min west of Hamilton, Pirongia maunga dominates the skyline and strikes excitement into the hearts of trail runners.
Generally considered a technical trail run, the PTR team have gone about creating a fun and challenging event for all ages and abilities.
You’ll be sweating your little heart out as you climb up through native forest along the flanks of the maunga. Pause for a breather and take in the views before you buckle up, hold onto your hats and go for gold on the way down!
Whether you’re out for a family walk through the bush or you’re taking on one of the gnarliest and technical tracks in the North Island – the Munter, there’s something for everyone, and best of all, it’s not going to cost you the earth.
