Comedy writing masterclass with stand-up comedian and novelist Eamonn Marra.

Eamonn Marra is a writer and comedian. He was born and raised in Christchurch and now lives in Wellington. He has a MA in Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters. Eamonn’s shows include ‘Man on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’ (2014), ‘Respite’ (2014/2015), ‘I, Will Jones’ (2016–18), ‘Dignity’ (2018) and ‘Anxiety: The Comedy’ (2019). His first novel, 2000ft Above Worry Level, was published in February this year.

In the workshop, Eamonn will cover:

- How to use structure and form to construct a story
- What to do with your half baked ideas
- How to use narration and voice to your advantage
- How to punch up your writing with jokes
- Flirting with truth and lies.
