Come celebrate Matariki at this phenomenal free event, where UCOL welcomes Grammy Award-winning musician Puoro Jerome to Manawatū.
Jerome is a Māori musical instrument specialist that has performed all over the world. He was a featured solo artist on the two-time Grammy Award-winning album ‘Calling All Dawns’, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London. Jerome was meant to be heading on a North America tour, but with COVID-19 restrictions their loss is our gain.
Jerome will guide us all through Oro Atua (sound healing) through Taonga Puoro (traditional Maori instruments). It will be a unique moment to heal and connect, after we’ve had to keep our distance. Jerome will share stories about these instruments during his performance, and there will also be an opportunity for questions afterwards.
Don’t miss this truly exceptional performance. Doors open from 5.15pm, show starts 5.30pm. Open to all and free entry.
