Tom Piper and Muffie Dunn’s Reimagining Lincoln Center and the High Line is a documentary exploring the process of reimagining the public identities of two major New York urban spaces. The project, led by design firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, included the revitalisation of the once derelict High Line railroad tracks, featuring extraordinary naturalistic plantings designed by Piet Oudolf.
The film includes commentary from the architects as well as interviews with New York City planning commissioner Amanda Burden, critics and theorists Mark Wigley, Anthony Vidler, Martin Filler, and more. The film screened as a limited festival offering in New Zealand after its release, but this is your opportunity to see it for the first time – or to see it again – in Blenheim.
For anyone interested in gardens, architecture, design or urban planning, this is a stimulating and thought-provoking film. Highly recommended.
