Hooray! We are nearly there !!! Over the past few months, 3 community choirs- Manawa ora children Community choir, Kotaba Women Community Choir, Wellington Community Choir- have been working together to create a World Music concert to connect us together, to celebrate in times of adversity, and to give back to the community. We will be joined by a West African inspired Drum and dance group Moringa dancers and Kubatana drummers. This is a collaboration between generations and cultures in the true creative communities working together style.

We can't wait to take you to Madagascar, Africa, Georgia, UK, Aotearoa, and the US to name a few, and sing to and with you about rising above the troubles we find ourselves in, wanting to go back to what's familiar, grieving over what we have lost, challenging us about what we are doing to the earth, what it means to be a community, finding things to celebrate and most of all songs of hope, songs of springs and summers to come.

This is a free concert so spread the word and bring your family and friends and join us for a very special and inspiring night of music and dance!

The concert is directed by Lala SIMPSON who is one of the recipients of an arts continuity grant from Creative New Zealand this year. She will be joined in conducting the Wellington Community Choir by the choir's co-director Charlotte Kerrigan, Andrea Robinson on the piano, Simon Elwell director of African Beats NZ on drums, and Jenny Bloomfield director of Moringa Dancers for dance.
The concert will be recorded by Xavier Quilambaqui from Big World Zoo on video and Ben Woods on audio for a release on Youtube.
